UNH hosts Conference Championships, finishes season 2nd place in standings

As the first few snowflakes of the season fell, the 2012 Mountain Bike Season wrapped up this past weekend. UNH Cycling hosted the ECCC Championships at Highland Mountain Bike Park in Northfield, NH. Highland is a world-class mountain biking venue, and the courses for all four events this weekend were very fun. Thanks to many strong individual performances, UNH placed 3rd as a team this weekend. With that result, UNH finishes 2nd in the overall conference standings!

With the final weekend in the books, some UNH riders were on the podium for the season omnium. Greg DiSanto finished 1st place overall for the season in Men’s A. Sarah Geromini finished 3rd in the Women’s B category, and Jeremy Roscoe and John Aniskovich finished the season 1st and 2nd in the Men’s C category.

Now Greg DiSanto, Taylor Smith, and Luke Robichaud head to Angel Fire, NM for the DI Collegiate National Championships in XC and Short Track XC on Oct 19 and 20.

Saturday morning - XC
Saturday afternoon - Dual Slalom
Sunday morning - Short Track XC and Team Relay
Sunday afternoon - Downhill

The XC course will be mostly the same as last year's, but it will feature a new section of trail - "Hey Joe" - that the UNH Cycling team helped to build this summer.

Cross Series Week 5 (10/3/12) Cancelled due to Weather

Due to the incessant rain, we have decided to call off the race for this week. Sorry about the short notice but we wanted to see what the weather was going to do and it doesn't look good. We may be having a race next week, but seeing as it is getting dark out sooner it will probably be our last. We will keep you posted on whats happening in the mean time.
