Supported by the University of New Hampshire Departement of Campus Recreation, UNH Cycling is one of the largest sports clubs on campus with yearly membership exceeding 60 members. Through the support of the University and numerous sponsors the program, composed of undergraduates, graduates and faculty/staff, allows riders to not only ride together but also travel throughout New England and nationally as well to compete against other schools. UNH Cycling helps riders of all abilities and disciplines explore this healthy and exciting sport. Growing every year, the team now has riders of every skill level from casual mountain biker, to dedicated road racer. Bringing the cycling community together and providing new opportunities to students are the primary goals of UNH Cycling.
Weekly meetings are held on Tuesday nights at 7:00pm in Hamilton Smith room 128.
Monday 05 May 2008  Dartmouth puts on a great race  Last weekend the UNH cycling team made the drive to Hanover, New Hampshire for the Eastern Championship hosted by Dartmouth college. Members competed in Team Time Trial, Criterium and Road Race events, with impressive finishes from both the mens' and womens' teams. Full results can be found at: www.velocityresults.net. As road season comes to a close, the cycling team would like to thank our coach John Gable for all the amazing support and direction he has provided us with this year. Tuesday 22 April 2008  Warm Weather Brings Good Reults  The warm, sunny weather this weekend helped the UNH cycling team put up some great results at the much anticipated "Monte Philo Eroica" hosted by UVM. UNH had 6 top 5 finishes, including impressive wins in the Men's A criterium and Men's D road race. Next weekend the team will bring a full squad to the Eastern Championships at Dartmouth, which is shaping up to be one of the most epic events the ECCC has ever seen. Tuesday 15 April 2008  UNH takes second in Boston Beanpot  The UNH cycling team had impressive finishes in every race this weekend at the Boston Beanpot, but was edged out for the Division 1 victory by the larger numbers of UVM. Nonetheless a great time was had by all and two members of the team came away with official Beanpot winner's jerseys! UNH's performance was also helped by several new racers, who despite their inexperience performed excellently and contributed invaluable points to the team total. Monday 07 April 2008  UNH has strong showing in New York  The UNH cycling team traveled to West Point, New York over the weekend to compete in the Army Spring Classic. Beautiful weather and good results made this a great weekend for the team, with strong finishes in every category. Next weekend the team will travel to Massachusetts to defend their title at the Boston Beanpot, one of the most anticipated races of the season! Tuesday 16 October 2007  UNH takes 2nd overall for the 2007 ECCC MTB season!  After the 2007 ECCC MTB Championships in Plattekill, NY this past weekend, UNH ended the season in 2nd place overall. UNH team members took home several medals for individual standings: Corey Smith: First place overall, and the yellow jersey, in the Mens A category; third place in the XC events Amy Schwarzenberg: First place overall in the Womens B category David Schwarzenberg: First place overall in the Mens B category James "Angus" Rose: Third place overall in the Mens B category With many other high finishers, this has been without a doubt one of the strongest MTB seasons in UNH Cycling history. In two weeks, the UNH riders in Men's and Women's A categories travel to Banner Elk, NC for the Collegiate National Championships.
